About Ta’aluq Foundation

Established in 2016, Ta’aluq Foundation (TF) is a registered non-governmental organization dedicated to serving communities without discrimination of ethnicity, political or religious affiliation, caste, or creed. Our mission is to provide essential services to those in need, both in the urban slums of Karachi and the remote areas of rural Sindh.

Addressing Pakistan’s Infant Mortality Rate

Pakistan unfortunately bears the highest infant mortality rate globally, a fact highlighted by UNICEF’s data source. According to the Economic Survey 2019-20, the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) stands at 57.2 per 1,000 live births in Pakistan source. Factors such as malnutrition, acute respiratory infections, and diarrheal diseases contribute significantly to this alarming rate. Additionally, inadequate access to skilled pediatricians and unregulated non-hospital deliveries in rural areas pose further risks to both newborns and mothers. In 2019, UNICEF reported 399,418 children under the age of 5 lost their lives in Pakistan.

Bridging the Gap in Healthcare Accessibility

Private hospitals, while equipped with diagnostic and pediatric facilities, often come with unaffordable costs for low-income families. Charity hospitals, on the other hand, face overwhelming demand, limited resources, and facilities. Ta’aluq Foundation steps in to address this critical gap. At Surraya Health Care, we offer specialized care to critically ill patients, with a focus on women and children. Our team of qualified medical practitioners, supported by dedicated paramedic staff, ensures every patient receives the care they need.
